Embracing the Duuu Moments

So i was leaving my Math 1341 class this morning and our notebook that we have for the class is a 3in Ring Binder. Very HUGE and A Lot of Papers!! Well when i got to my car i sat my Notebook on the hood of my car so i could scavenge for my keys in my purse. Yes, you have probablly guessed it. I left it on the hood of my car! I realized it AFTER i had already drove to a different parking lot at the University. I raced back the way i came Praying to find it. Well i did find the Notebook, just not in tackt. I ran around like a chicken with my head cut off for like 15 min trying to retrieve all the papers. I still don't know if i have them all or not, but i'm praying!! It is something i look back on and Laugh. There is no reason to get mad, cuz i cant turn back time.
If I had to sum up my personality in one story, I would have to pick this one!! HaHa!!

Embracing being Modest

Sooo, me and Kaleigh went to Target today just to look around. When we walked in we noticed that their new line of Swimsuits were out. We started to scavenge through the many Bikinis in searh for a cute Tankini that acttually covers the body. We both found one that we decided to try on. To our, not so much suprise, they didn't cover. Who would have thought? We looked at the Plus size bathing suits, and What Do You Know that acttully covered. I hate how fashion designers think all girls want to flaunt thier bodies. There are still some girls out there that want to dress modest and care about the purity of thier brother's hearts. When we got home we decided to look for "Modest Bathing suits" online. It took us a while to find some good sites but we did. Of course the tankini tops that acttually cover the belly and top part of the body were anywhere from $35 to $50. Ohhh the price we will pay for modesty. If any of you girls that still care about your brothers in Christ and their hearts here are some sites you can check out for a good modest bathing suit.

Embracing the FuNnY Moments...

Ok so tonight after service we ONCE AGAIN went to WhatABurger! Well tonight was a FUNNY night. Thersea an Tony came and you have to know that Thersea is a person that if im around her and she starts laughing i start laughing and well, it never ends. In one of our Oh So Deep converstations about Childhood memories a couple sitting not to far away from us caught our attention. The man reached into his sack and grabbed the hamburger out and started opening an closing the two buns to the hamburger as if the hamburger was acttually talking. It was as if he was trying to impress his girlfriend. It was one of those things that you couldnt jsut giggle about an move on. It was a chain reaction laugh. Theresa, then me, then Tony, then Liz, then Kellen, then Kim her sister Kaleigh William and Jonisa. Not only did it stop there the man continued by treating his girlfriend as if she was a 1 yr. old needing help being feed and taking his onion ring and pretending it was a train or airplane.
You may read this and not laugh at all. What can i say? It may just be one of those have to be there moments.

Embracing the Down Times

So it's been a while now hasn't it. Just to keep you updated I have been sick for the past three or four days. I HATE being sick. Sometimes i would rather just roll over dead. While I was at the peak of my sickness, my friend Kaleigh said something to me that got my attention. She said, "Could you imagine being this sick everyday and having to go through Kimo-therapy?" I cringed at the thought. I couldn't even imagine taking how i felt, multiplying it by 10, then having to go through Kimo. I don't even want to know. I was once told when you find yourself sick and in pain, think about ones who are sicker than you and in more pain and pray for them. I believe when God listens to our prayers he not only listens but analizes too. He looks to see if you are praying a selfish or a selfless prayer. To be praying for others while you are doubled over in pain and throwing up every time you turn around, gives God a sence and pride and joy in his children while they are praying these selfless prayers.

Embrace Love

1 Corinthians 13:4-8 (NIV)
"4Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
8Love never fails...."

Ok so here is a challenge that was presented to me and the other members of Awaken. Take this passage about love and everytime the word love is mentioned replace it with your name.
See how you feel at the end and take what you now see in yourself and where you lack haveing a ture love and change it.

Suggestion: Print this passage up with your name replacing love an put it in a place you will see daily to remind you what TRUE LOVE is.

Embracing being Single

This is a recent Blog from The Ramp Amazing everyone should read it!!

Relationship Run
This is some incredibly practical material - with Valentines Day looming in the near future I thought I'd share some thoughts with you guys. For all of you who spend way too much time wondering who "The One" that you're going to marry is, here are some things I have learned recently:During Winter Ramp Damon said something kind of as a side comment that really impacted me. (And I'm sure every one who was single in the room picked up on this as well) He said, "If you want to find your spouse just run as hard and as fast as you can after God, and then look over and see who's running next to you." That is such a powerful word! Well naturally the single minds start to think, "Hmm...well who is running next to me?…" And as I was pondering this the Holy Spirit interrupted my thoughts and said, "Julie, are you running as hard and as fast as you can?" After I thought about it for a minute my honest response was, "Well...no." And His response to me was, "Well then don't look."Wow. What a rebuke. But what a freeing word! In a moment I realized that my only responsibility is to focus on running as hard and as fast as I can after God. To lay aside every weight that hinders. To stop settling for a "normal" walk with God instead of a supernatural one, and to really press into God, growing up into spiritual maturity. Like Mrs. Karen says, "Where you stop is where you stop!"Being single is a time in your life to treasure. It's the only time in your life that you have where it's just you and God - where you don't have to worry about the responsibilities of a spouse, or kids, etc. It's a time where you can so easily put all of your attention on Him. And if you're feeling lonely, just realize that loneliness is nothing more than an invitation to find a deeper security in God. Most people get so busy trying to fill the lonely times with distractions that they miss the Divine "Come up here."
All of that to say, let's set ourselves this year to cut out distractions and run as hard and fast as we can - to run in a way as to receive the prize of encountering Him.

Ture Love Waits

Embracing The Hard Times

Everybody has those times where everything seems to hit you all at once. Its in those times when you are your weakest that God's Strength comes into play. When you are felling as if you are all alone it is the time God can comfort and embrace you the most. It is a good thing to go through hard times because when you do it is just God putting you through the fire. John (My Pastor) once said that so many times we ask for God to pour out his Fire on us but once God dose we start complaning. Do we not thing that reciving God's holy fire isn't going to burn? The fire is a place we need to be so God can refine us and make us into that pure and spotless bride. While I was going through a really ruff patch not to long ago a wise and respectful man told me "Greatness is forged in the Fire, You are destined for greatness." Just remember going through hard times just puts you one step closer to our Lord God Almighty!
